Science Zone Workshops
In lab coats and goggles, your child will feel like a 'real scientist', as they carry out exciting and stimulating experiments that will both educate and inspire them to learn more about materials and how they react together. From fluorescent slime to exploding volcanoes, each week in the experiment zone there will be new and exciting experiments for your child to get immersed in and learn from. And even better, your childen even get to take home their fabulous creations.
Pre-booking and payment is required in advance. We do require a parent or guardian to stay with attending children for all of our sessions. One £6.00 (£5.00 + VAT) ticket entitles 1 CHILD and 1 ADULT to attend a Science Zone Workshop. Please note there is an additional charge of £2.00 for any extra non participating children and/or adults.

We are not open during term time during the week days except for After School Club. See times below.
Open every Saturday as normal services 10.30am to 4pm.

On the road:
We do science experiments and dry ice workshops and dinosaur parties for children and/or adults on location - if you have a big enough space with an electrical power supply, we can do it.
School Service:
Our fixed planetarium in our Zone centre is open to the public. We also welcome local schools to visit the Dorset Planetarium in the Science Zone, maybe for a workshop too.
Bookings for planetarium in 2026 must be made in advance - please contact reception for available dates and times.
