The Science Zone Planetarium
Bookings for the planetarium in 2024 must be made in advance please contact reception for available dates and times.
Science Dome UK based in Boscombe, Bournemouth has a mini digital planetarium which can show the night sky and other science topics such as 'Dinosaurs at Dusk', 'Under the Sea' and Volcanoes. Our Planetarium is available most saturdays and during school holidays, but please call on 01202 729206 to check our availability.
Each session lasts approx 30 minutes and costs £3 (excluding VAT). The films are only £2.
The Science Dome
3600 Science Adventures in a mobile Dome
Our Planetarium is also designed to be mobile and can visit Schools, Youth Groups, Scout & Guiding Groups and Outside Events* and can cover a range of topics including The Moon Landings, Solar
System Tours, Rocks & Soils and Dinosaurs.

10.30am to 4pm
We are not open during term time during the week days except for After School Club. See times below.
Open every Saturday as normal services 10.30am to 4pm.

On the road:
We do science experiments and dry ice workshops and dinosaur parties for children and/or adults on location - if you have a big enough space with an electrical power supply, we can do it.
School Service:
Our fixed planetarium in our Zone centre is open to the public. We also welcome local schools to visit the Dorset Planetarium in the Science Zone, maybe for a workshop too.
